Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Authorities stated they were contacted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior political figure stated the attack made him speechless and had to be addressed quickly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
